I am available through Beagle Rescue NSW ID Number: 2017-055

Please be aware that applications are not necessarily on a ‘first come - first served’ basis, but rather, each application is matched to individual dogs and their needs and the most appropriate potential home is chosen. It may take a few weeks for a decision to be made as the foster carer(s) and the Rescue Co-ordinator will carefully assess each application as our priority is to find exactly the right home for that particular beagle

Rubi was surrendered to BRNSW as her best mate Romi had sadly gone to the Rainbow Bridge and Rubi was not coping at being left on her own. Her owner was having to spend hours away from home and felt that it would be best for Rubi to find a loving home where she would have company.

Preferably we would like a home where there is another beagle or social breed of dog to keep him company and/or someone who is home most of the time. Beagles are pack dogs and do need company as they do not do well when left on their own for long hours.

Rubi has been ....

-  Health & temperament checked

-  Desexed

-  C5 Vaccinated

-  Lifetime Registered

-  Annual heartworm vaccinated

-  Started on regular flea and worming treatment

Notes from Rubi's foster carer, Sheryl .....

Rubi is an inside beagle and is housetrained.

Rubi's former owner said she has arthritis in her hips for which she is on a maintenance dose of 4CYTE joint & cartilage support (supplied) and could not walk further than a couple of hundred metres or jump up on things without suffering/limping for days thereafter. I am yet to see this, she has been jumping all over the place, playing & chasing etc. Also, we certainly walk a great deal further than 200m, doing at least 3km most days. Granted, it is slower than we normally go (I let her set the pace) and she needs to lose a few kgs (she’s 17.5kg!) but she is energetic, playful during other times and I have seen no limping or stiffness. Maybe it is because of the 4CYTE or because she is so happy to be around dogs again or both, I don’t know.

Apart from this, she is a happy, healthy, super-friendly, lovely girl.

More to come...
